A peaceful and supportive space for new mums and their babies
Mums, Bumps & Babies meets on Monday mornings at The Vicarage in Wonersh, offering a relaxed and welcoming space for new mums and expectant parents to begin the week.
The group attracts families from across the local area, including Guildford, Farnham, Elstead, and the villages surrounding Wonersh. There is no pressure to arrive at a set time—parents are welcome to pop in at any point during the morning, staying for as long or as little as suits their baby’s routine.
Whether it’s a good day or a more challenging one, parents are met with a warm smile, a cup of tea or coffee, and homemade, allergen-friendly cake. There’s space to be heard, space to breathe, and space to be gently cared for by a team who understand the highs and lows of early parenthood. Baby cuddles are always on offer for those moments when someone needs a break.
The atmosphere is calm and non-judgmental, and the group fosters real friendship and connection. Many mums continue chatting during the week via a WhatsApp group, sharing tips, encouragement, and a sense of community.
The group is run by the church’s Children and Families Leader, who is also a qualified postnatal doula and sleep coach. She is happy to offer a listening ear or practical support on specific parenting concerns as part of the morning.
Inspired by the African proverb, “It takes a village to raise a child”, this group exists to be just that—a village of care, connection, and encouragement for parents in the early stages of family life.
